New the forum

The missus has a Gen 3 (I think, its 2002 with the new style over the original) and I need to remove the Clarion head unit. I've tried the Clarion keys and the radio doesn't move so I think its been fastened with a bolt to the back. Due to the layout of the back of the centre console I can't see if it has or not so I think I'm going to have to take it apart.

I saw the guide in the other thread but the pictures don't work and I can't find any screws behind the ashtray.

Does anyone know how to remove the console in a Gen 3 so I can get to the radio easily?

Welcome mate, click out the ashtray and you will then have to gently force out the centre console by pressing out from inside the ashtray. Once the panel is removed (just held in by tabs) you will see the screws (4 i think) 2 on each side. Simples

take off nobs if its a 2 litre
open ashtray.gently prise the silver dash from underneath.........use a cloth but try avoid screwdrivers as they damage.its held by clips and will pull away eventually.be FIRM but careful.there are about 6 clips holding
next take out all the plugs from switches.everyone is different so you cant put back wrong.your looking at radio.you need to undo four screws holding cage.then you'll see how its fastened with two clips at front.it'll all make sense when its out and you can see it
