Has anyone done this on the coupe?

I've debated wheter to go for a power cap or to do the BIG THREE after loads of research and different opinions I've come to the conclusion of doing the BIG THREE - From an electronic point of view, its much more viable.

Anyway, I wana eliminate the light flash effect on low bass notes, obviously to stop the battery being sucked dry.

Theres many clips on youtube showing this done, this one looked good:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iX9Rcq5D ... re=related

I have 4guage wire, so shall I continue with this or go thicker and use 0guage?
Amp is a 1100watt mononblock alpine.
Sub is 1100watts rms/2200 max power audiobhan.

If anyone has done this, I would appriciate a step by step guide.(yeh I can get this online, but I wana get a guide from a coupe owner and someone who I can come back to if need be).

Any tips would be good. Is it just as simple as replacing the original 3 with the bigger three??????

Thanks :thumbup

Raj

Never seen this done before. The first 2 cables don't seem a whole lot different than fitting a grounding kit tho.

it's part of the same thing mick.

Power caps do a specific job and can (and in more cases than not) make more problems than they solve when installed wrong or for the wrong reason.

a good ground is essential to any sound system, loud or quality, and a good place to start, also look into a better battery, your money will be better spent here, than on power caps.

Basic grounding kit then... Cheers.

Alleged to help with engine electricals too - can give a better idle, brighter headlights etc. Dunno exactly how it would help with sound systems, but I know these huge installs can be VERY power sensitive...

no problem :) it's not just for Ice though (although more commonly associated with it), it can* improve the overall responsaveness of the cars electric.

*in some cases it doesn't do squat, but this is dependant on the quality of the oem wiring, I've never known this to do any harm though.

Ahh right, cheers for that.

Certainly would not do any harm, the Coupe is not known for having the best grounded system in the world - this mod is actually detailed in the DIY on the Main Site...

yh - power cap for me, from what I have seen is a no no.

Jack did do his - but got help from a pro.

I've seen it done on other cars - just wondered if any of you guys had done it and is it as simple as old ground wire out-new ground wire in.

Guess i'l just go for it.

Bigger better battery - yellow tops are pretty pricey anything less of a yellow top is not worth it?? or is it?

Lidl-have you done the BIG THREE?

yellow tops are coming down in price, (less than £200, consider the recomemded battery wont leave you much change outta £100) and worth every single penny full stop.

I've not touched the system yet, but I have a lot of kit waiting to go in and will be doing my usual competition install write up.

You can leave the original ground wire in cant you as the electric will take the path with lowest resistance.....
