how do you remove the dash to get centre vents out? i am unsure whether to saw the vent rings off, so wanna see how hard it is to remove centre console frst

easy but hard.gotta pull front off and remove wires-not sure how v6 climate control goes on.tbh id cut em off much simpler

It is a pain in the a$$ to get them out without cutting them. First you have to take the stereo surround out, unplug all the wires, unscrew the stereo cage as well and remove it. Then you need to feel around where the vents are, the left hand one will have 2 screws, the right has 3 screws.
Getting these screws out is the hard part, they turn the opposite way to normal as you've got to get to them from the other side, and a stubby phillips head screwdriver is essential.
Given the time it took me, and the number of cuts/scratches from the inside of the dash I got, kinda makes me wish I'd just cut the things off!

It's because the siii vents have the open/close function to them. Adds a couple of inches to them. Probably can be sorted by moving the tubing back, but I thought it was too much hassle!

It works fine, its an enclosed device. the slider wheel just opens and closes the vents.
An 02 gen3 at a scrap yard here has them, i considered removing them to use on my own car but i decided the hassle for very little was a bit pointless.
