wobbling stearing wheel

yuup, my Gen 1 is the same...

New tyres all around, super balanced

and all that gizmo, tracking okay but still between 62-70 it wobbles.. annoying because on 60 roads you just either have to drop below 55 or go over 70! :roll:

I wont say which option i go for

the other thing you might want to check is the wheel bearings.

that could make the steering wheel wobble.

Mine does it at about 68mph but as I only use that speed when accelarating and braking I aint to bothered. May have to do something if the wheels fall off :lol

dont overlook the possibility of a buckled/mis-shaped wheel(s)...my m8 had this problem with his old rover...turns out one of his wheels was shaped like a 20pence coin...not really that noticable to look at it tho

I have brand new wheel's , tyres ,( tracking was done when fitted ) new bearing's disc's and pad's , and just past the MOT ( so the steering is ok ) and guess what , yep you guessed it , mine wobble's at 70mph :roll:

You didn't have tyres fitted by Formula 1 Autocentres did you? They had supposed to have balanced my wheels but I get steering wobble over 70mph, mind you they had supposed to have fitted new valves and carried out the work without damaging my alloys as well but they didn't :bang

Can I be honest, I wouldn't panic too much about buckled rims and stuff as it takes a fair wack to buckle a rim. Get them balanced as it's 99.9% that...

Mine always did this. When I fitted my strut brace, it completely went. And that was only a cheap
Â£50 one from e bay. Best Â£50 I spent.

My Gen3 does this at 60-65mph. New alloys, tyres, balanced and tracked. All OK. :confused

HI MY GEN 3.5 HAS GOT WOBBLING AT 55 TO 65 ONLY STARTED WHEN I PUT NEW 19S ON IT, IVE HAD EVERYTHING CHECKED AND PROB STILL THERE DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.

another thought on this problem.
My (wifes - still an argument) 2000 gen 2 Coupe, 66k has a vibration through the steering wheel arround 70mph, and a lot of tyre noise. (standard alloys)

This first appeared after new tyres (cheap - Triangle Tallon Sport) were put on the front, After 3 trips back to the tyre fitting centre for rebalancing and tracking and a fall out with a company I have been dealing with for 8 years I went to a different dealer and bought a set of 4 Mitchelin Exalto which I thought would solve the problem, No change (although grip is better) still noisy and vibration at 70mph. Even with a second Balance

Ive took the wheels off myself, all the mating faces are clean and flat,
Could it be the wheel bearings? On previous cars I wouldnt have expected this?
Or could it be the Balljonts - i cant detect a lot of play, but I have never had to change any of these in the past

Any help or advice appriciated.
