Hi, I have been looking at alloys lately for my car.

It is a Hyundai coupe SE 2.0 gen1 99'

What would be a recommended size for it? 17 or 18".

Do you need spacers too for a better fit?

go for 17,s some good choices are in the TSW range are the volcanos and katalunyas (sp), especially on a silver car as they come in silver or in graphite centres with a stainless rim.

It all depends on what tyres you fit to them as this will effect the overall diameter.

If i were you i'd go 17" max. I've got 17's now and have noticed a big loss of power (have lost around 5mph off my top speed). The bigger the alloy, the heavier the wheel and hence the more work your engine has to do to rotate it. Apologies if you already know this.

My coupe is 40mm lower and i have no problems with tyres scraping.

I fitted 17" rims on mine with a 40 profile witch kept my new alloys the same size as standard rims with the chunky tyre but i also went for the team dynamics light weight alloy so i didnt gain any weight.
