Water in the wheels? Can't say I've come across that before... and I can't see how it'd have any effect anyway (if it did all those people that use TyreSeal would be wobbling all over the place!).

Rotation-induced vibration can be caused by all manners of things however given you say the symptoms disappear with your stock wheels on you can pretty much pinpoint it down to the wheels/tyres (not 100% as it could well be that the wider wheel accentuate a problem with your suspension for example).

It might be worth getting them balanced properly on the car as this will highlight any fitment issues (I don't recall if the F2 wheel are hub-centric or not).

How bad is the dented wheel? I'd be inclined not to use that one (do you have a spare) as, depending on the severity of it, alloys don't take well to physical deformations as it weakens them significantly (and, barring the dent itself, without visible signs of stress).

Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately i don't have a spare as i only bought four. The wheel that's buckled only has signs or kerbing and doesn’t look particularly bad, the only reason i found it was buckled was when it was being balanced and the guy happened to notice it when the cover of the machine was off. I'm not sure about water in the wheels, as two of the tyres have already been re-fitted because of slow punctures. The tyres are quite low anyway so it may be worth replacing them although I don't really want to shell out all the money unnecessarily. I've never heard of wheels being balanced on the car, is this a particularly specialist thing to have done or can any tyre place do it? Cheers

They do have low profile tyres on them and i expected the ride to be harsher then the stock wheels but the vibrations are unbearable on the motorway and it seems to be the whole car and not just the steering wheel.

After going back to a different tyre place they took one of the front and rear wheels off and said they don't fit properly as there was about a 10mm gap where it wasn't sitting flush on the wheel hub, thus causing the problems with vibrations etc. Has anyone else come across this. My gen 1 has captive rotars and i wondered if it was anything to do with it? Someone else mentioned that I could you use spacers to combat the problem?
