T & P Coilover Suspension Kit from performance coupe. I havent got my gen 1 coupe yet, its a case of insurance quotes first then that will determine whether I get a 1.6 or 2.0. I would definitely get a coilover kit for the car as I have my golf on coilovers and the handling has seriously improved from the standard lowering spring setup. Also, with the option to adjust ride height it enables you to prepare the car for track use or country roads etc.

Only thing about it is. every1 who puts coilovers on their cars think its the last word in suspension. Although they do offer (most of the time) better handling and the ability to lower past 40,45 mm, it changes the steering arm angles and drive shaft angles from manufacturers design, thereby creating wear in places not originally designed for such. Also, obviously the wheels require re-allignement as when you lower the car, steering arms are reduced in angle, thereby push the wheels out at the rear and making them tow in.

It does happen b b,

which of those angles cant be adjusted? The toe in should be salvageable, the pos camber I'm not sure about, I always think pos camber self rights to a degree with body roll but you need the roll. On these cars I'm not sure, used to use shims behind the lower wishbone on rear drive Alfas but they had torsion bars instead of springs at the front and ride height was a doddle. If looking right is the priority then I suppose higher maintenance is the downside you accept.

Conversation back on Jonny?

The tow in induced by lowering the car is always correctable like you say, and camber is also adjustable on the golf by trial and error. I'm not sure if this is the case with all cars though. I know that the bottom end of the struts which bolt onto the hub carrier via 2 bolts are slotted, this means that if you lower the car, you car either push the struts in or pull them out at the bottom prior to tightening the bolts which in effect changes camber. Therefore in my case its a matter of trial and error to acquire the correct angle.
In my case I agree that looking right has more priority over higher maintenance as the higher maintenance is neglegible, but its also handling as well. My car handles far better with the coilovers set nice and low so Im happy.

Does anyone know if the bottom ends of the front struts are slotted in the hyundai coupe 2.0? If not is there any way of adjusting the camber angle after lowering? In the end, you wouldnt want to lower the car 60 mil and find your wearing the inside of your tyres off in a week....

If you go much lower than that Jonny, I have some plans for a periscope mate, for when its raining.
I knew they would come in handy!

:lol

lucky you chose the sunroof option. Got to give someone a lift right now mate. If theres no adj. on the strut bottom I'd be surprised, could be a drill and sidecutter job.
Catch you later..(the pesks knocking on me window)

Glynn...( just writing down " buck you out the sunroof " so I am)

i think i may be one in a million lol but i have AVO springs 40mm from demon tweeks, they cost like £100 delivered.

they are perfect for me stiff but not horribly hard, and gives it a nice drop all round.

Eibach full setup or coil overs if you want something spot on but will be alot harder ride depends what u want ;)
