I have a front strut bar, a rear strut bar, the car has been lowered on Eibach Pro Kit springs and I have Toyo Tires on the front and Pilots on the back (using them up before I buy Toyos for the back)

I was just wondering is there anything else I can really do so that my car can get round a corner even better then she already does.

Obviously you will all think, probably coilovers ... but I wont be getting coilovers on this Coupe after paying £170 for the springs lol!

So I have thought along the lines of uprate the anti-roll bars but I discussed this with kinobecoupe whom said it would only really be beneficial on a track ... Which led me to think about the polyurethane bushing kits ... But not sure really,

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :thumbup

surely one of these kits would improve handling even on the road?

I hear mix things, everyone off sets the improvement against the price of them :b

All I can come up with atm is:

Thicker wheel spacers, Uprated anti roll, Bushings ... Anythin else?

Edit - I am very quickly being talked into coil overs, haha! Some people are way tooooo persuasive lol.

Polybushes - hope you aint got fillings in your teeth.

Road legal slicks - TOYO R888's or similar...

Done pretty much all you can, TBH

hmm ... the tires will have to wait until these toyos are ready to be replaced, so am thinking I might do the coilovers, maybe do the anti roll bars but with poly bushes done at the same time.

RWD Conersion! Haha, I wish that was possible I really do lol!

Everything is possible if you can chuck enough money at it - seen XR3i's with the engine and drivetrain of the Escort Cosworth transplanted in them.

Know what you mean, tho...

hmmm .... Dad ed probably love to have a go at doing that conversion :lol She's the daily drive though so would be a bit of a pain.

I think for now I shall just look into a set of coilovers, the idea of them being adjustable is persuadin me a lot atm because I hate how the front looks higher then the back, so I'll be happier with that then aswell, then I'll go from there I think, any more ideas would be appreciated :thumbup Thanks for the contributions thus far :)

(pure guesswork)

i wouldn't recommend removing weight from the front and moving to the back because of it beings FWD. you won't be able to launch as quickly as the less weigh will give the wheels more chance to spin, if you want to move weight just remove it completely. Have you got mid-body strut bar???

lowering center of gravity will help, so get rid of sunroof and motor??

try and get any weight you can as low as possible.

Lower strut brace
widen track
camber on rear wheels slightly(have to be very careful with this)
Anti-Dive frames, i think thats what their called, 'L' shaped peices that go on the front wings
stiffer shocks if you haven't done them already

probably it unless you wana spend big bucks on stiffening cage, losing weight to CF etc

interesting to see no mention of those centre bars from shark racing I must say, I've been waiting for someone to suggest one lol.

I've been searching for the lower strut bar for a few days now and I just can't find one anywhere, I've seen them for Evo-s etc so if anyone spots one please throw a link up, that would be very much appreciated! :)

when i was at sharky's, we were talking about the strut and he said that you could have a strut bar put underneath in the front, think it was welded in, so if you think of how the top bar supports the top and stops the roll, well the underneath bar would make it even tighter and stiffer but it be hard for you to go over bumps. It was something like that my memorys crap.

oops, sorry coupe-moe, don't know how I missed that lol! No I haven't got one but I am thinking of getting one, but probably only on a group buy or if I could get one cheap because that's a lot of money to spend on that IMO.

and on the point of wider tyres, does anyone know what width tyre you can get up too? (I think androo or Rik has told me this before but I can't remember for the life of me now, tyre numbers confuse me lol :b)

how wide do you want to go???

I believe 305 is the widest 'easily' available car tyre you can get :p

on 7" rims you can get away with 215's, but on a 40 profile its rare, i think that a more common one is 215/45 matey

then youre looking at 7.5" rims etc

Not sure on the clearances lol but you wont need spacers!

mines got 225s on standard wheels but it does tramline a bit. 215 40 16/17 should be easy enough to get, will prob be looking around £110-£120 for one goodyear though.

Wider wheels would make a difference depending on the tyre, if you have a wider wheel on same size tyre it will keep more ground contact and less flex, but go to wide and it'll stretch the sidewalls and play havoc with road holding, tread wear and make for a very uncomfortable ride. if you have to wide a tyre then you get problems with tramlining, and under extreme cornering flexing, and if your really really pushing risk pulling the tyre off.....but if your driving that fast and hard let me know so i can stay away :P

225/40/18 is wide enough for me, safest so it doesn't rub.
