Just drove home in the glorious ice, I had to brake a little too hard coming into my street, which resulted in a rather strong vibration through the pedal, and a rather odd whirring noise coming from the front of the car. Luckily my street is rather empty and it's quite late, so I could try again on another frozen patch, same happened.

I've read some of the other threads, and have a feeling I may get shouted at telling me that this is what my car is meant to do, and that's how it works :P however I thought I'd double check as I've never felt ABS in other cars come through the pedal that strongly, and most the other threads did not mention the vibration, but rather just the noise.

So, do I have a problem, or am I going to get shouted at?

YES! It's just the ABS at work...

Yeah the ABS in the coupe can come as a suprise as I havent had the same experience in other cars.

still, at least you know its working when its nice and obvious - my old man is 52, and only just in the last week felt ABS for the first time- i gave him the same reply to here

including the duuuuuuh
