I have recently aquired a 2004 SE which understeers badly in wet or even damp conditions. Is this as I suspect just rubbish tyre choice? (Triangle Talon? they even sound rubbish!) What tyre would you recommend?

Oh dear, the previous owner obviously didnt like the car much. Whack on some toyo proxies or khumos and be gone with that understeer.

If you're after some good mid-range tyres then I can recommend Maxxis. Currently got Tornado Alpha's on the front and Kumho's on the rear and not had any problems in the wet

them itrangles are shocking tyres. When i was still workin t the tyre place i fitted a pair, as the guy pulled off the forecourt he just 'clipped' the kerb and blew it out, bearing in mind he would have only just started pulling off. needless to say he rolled it back and straight away asked for a replacement dunlop. isn't worth skimping on tyres.
