I've been a Hyundai Coupe owner for just two weeks ('03 2.7 V6) and I couldn't be happier. However, when I brake on these icy roads the brake pedal locks alarmingly, and when this happens I need to pump it to come to a stop. Do I have a brake problem or have I something to learn about how to drive this car? I have a 10,000 mile service booked for tomorrow so I'm hoping this will reveal the problem. :/

Could be lots of things, such as:

Its ice, its slippy.
ABS aint working so well/brakes need bleeding.
You might have very poor quality tyres, people always skimp on the tyres even though they are the most important part.

all cars do it and its nothing to worry you as angelus says-its ice-its slippy what do you expect? ice and cars dont go well

hi m8, im not having ago at you but it isnt ur car or any other car............its you, you have to adapt ur driving to the conditions, break lightly but early and they wont lock up

if nobody tells them they dont learn faz

important point though get used to using search! nothing up with your car at all.
