Coupe 2Lt 2002. I have been driven mad by a knocking from rear ,I have checked all the normal things , like spare and jack bolted down even took parcel shelf out ,asI know these can jump up and down over rough roads.Any ideas please! Coupe 2Lt 2002.
also boot full of water all seals look good ,could it be from the sunroof ?

remove the inside of the boot and check the tightness of the bolts at the top of the struts, these are quite good at coming loose but pose no serious safety problems.

leak in the boot - take out the spare wheel and check the gromits/plugs - sometimes if they arent quite right they can leak. Im guessing you mean the well where the speare wheel is getting wet yeah? Or actually in the boot floor?

Funnily enough my wheel well also had sand and two sea snails in it. I do go to the beach a lot living on the coast, but that's just ridiculous!

even if the grommits "appear" to be ok - make sure they are really in tight - as these let water in
