My gen 2 seems to have a mind of its own

Had a steering wheel shake since February this year.

When at 50-70 my steering wheel shakes side to side. but sometimes stops

Had original alloys on to begin with while shake was present. had them balanced and tracked, but shake still remained. thought wheels may be buckled

Got new alloys, brand new 17"s had them balanced and tracked. had new discs new brakes, had a wheel bearing done but shake still remains.

Has nothing to do with the back as the car was suspended up and driven, the back wheels didnt move as its not on the floor. front wheels did and the shake still was present.

Any suggestions? ALL ideas would be appreciated greatly

hi id go for the simple things first,remove the wheels and the new brake discs and see iff there is any corrosion on the hub,best to get a wire brush and give them a good clean and then refit,also check for any play in the bottom ball joints and wishbone bushes,hope this helps

Getting the car serviced on wed. so ill get all ideas checked.

I hate driving the car above 50. and the shake is ONLY in the steering wheel, let go of the wheel and its nice lol but kinda need to steer lol

check the drive shafts aswell for any warping or cracking, of even if the balance ballast has come off

i was told i have a problem like this as well, something to do with the steering rack.

Would it be expensive to fix?

the steering rack was expensive lol very!! but the part i need can be took off and replaced. and i think he said around £50 to buy lol but i didnt ask on the labour

is it possible i could lose all steering, crash and die? or will it be alright
