Yes the ride comfort will be lower, but then the cornering will be infinitely better and as you say looks are improved upon.

If you're running standard width wheels you shouldn't have any problems. I've been running Eibach's on my Gen3 for a couple of years now on road and track and they're an excellent compromise for a good price.

I am currently on standard alloys but i hope to upgrade to 18 or 19 inch, what problems do you think i'd have with those?

The diameter isn't as much of an issue as the width, I have some 18's that fit fine but some 17's that are wider, and they rub on the arches when going over bumps or heavy cornering.

As long as you keep your offset right and get suitable tyres that keep the overall diameter right you shouldn't have any issues.
