My Coupe drives perfectly (so far..) but I've noticed that there is a bit of a "rattle" when I go over a bump, coming from somewhere around the front right (drivers side) strut or the right side of the engine bay.

Is there anything known to become loose/worn/troublesome in this general area, before I start poking around?

I don't think it's an engine mount, as there isn't any clunking when pulling away it's just when I go over a bumpy surface or small pothole etc.

Any ideas?

I have the same kind of rattle and i have found it is the caliper. You can grab the caliper and move it 1-2mm the brakes work fine but the piston goes a little too far back which allows for the movement. Not sure how to fix it

Now I can get round to fitting my rear lowering springs...once I cut off the old ARB drop links

Nice unused rear caliper tool - much better than skint knuckles with long nosed pliers really Around $5 plus local tax (7% here)

Changed the front disks and was about to change the pads too, when I noticed the ones fitted were perfect - rattling has disappeared

you should really change the pads with the disk as a matter of course. just good practise really.....even if there is nothin visably wrong with the pads. all to do with disk and pad bedding into each other.

I'll possibly end up putting the pads I bought for the disc swap anyway - the old ones were as new though - I was quite surprised!
