i would imagine hte PE2 would have a rim protector, most decent tyres comin out now have them. tbh i wouldn't go near michelin tyres, if you can go for goodyear f1's either the gsd3 or asymmetric variant. you'll never look back. and you won;t be goin back to the garage every 5mins cos you ran over an ant which gave you a puncture haha

I thought the michelins of this world were the dogs dangly bits..
Now that you have mentioned Goodyear F1, I may go for them. Not only are they 40 quid cheaper than the new Michelins but I also hear some good reviews about them.

The T1-R (not TR-1) would invalidate my insurance.
Since the original Michelins were 215 45 17 87Y the Toyo's are: 215/45 R17 W (91) - i.e. wrong speed and weight rating.
