I go on holiday on friday and suddenly the wearing noise coming from my steering wheel has got worse. My brother seems to think its the wheel bearings I have checked the power steering fluid but its ok. It seems to be worse when the engine has had time to warm up. The brakes are ok too.

Any ideas?

Is it coming from the outside of the car ???

i think its more from the inside.

it happens mainly when the car is going quite slowly, as you go faster the noice speeds up. you wont hear anything when im doing 30mph+. I think steering is a little more heavy but I don't know if thats my mind playing tricks on me.

It passed an mot in april and he said there wasn't anything wrong then. its just got worse pretty much overnight but i have done shed loads of miles in the last month which doesn't help.

Right this could be a sticking caliper or a wheel bearing on its way out me thinks , just take your car for a bit of a drive ... park it up and feel each wheel , if one wheel is hotter than the others ... its that one thats making the noise , Coupes are prone for these things happening

im going to try and get it in to the garage i think before friday if i can as i have to drive 50 miles to the airport with everyone and thier bags!!.

any ideas on cost?
