Hi guys.. I have just acquired a 1996 Gen1 Coupe which used to belong to my father.. It has been sitting in the garage and just started for around 20 seconds per week for the last 3/4 years. I already solved an issue with a stuck tappet and am currently looking to service it with the hopes of getting it to pass VRT (Malta's version of MOT)

I have been looking at specs on websites and all seem to say that it should have ABS as standard, however I do not remember it as having ABS.. The steering wheel is also different from ones i am seeing in online pictures.. (Hope to get around posting some pics later)..

Do you think it should actually have ABS? Here are the specs of the car..

Hyundai Coupe 1996
2.0L engine (1997cc according to tax papers)
Colour: Red
4 Disc Brakes
No AirConditioning
No Cruise Control (as far as i know)

The car has F2 badges stuck under the side repeaters on the front fenders however the front bumper is not like the F2 or F2 evo version but rather like the standard GEN1 coupe..

Can anyone help me as to which model this exactly is and accurate specs?

i think all 2.0's have abs in gen1 i think its the 1600 that does'nt.nicolas certainly does

have you looked on yet, may help with any work you need to do

you tend to find anything with all round discs from about mid nineties all have abs.gen1 1600 have drums at rear
