Hi guys,

I've had my front tyres changed and have been told that i need some new front break pads.

I also had a full service a week later and was told the same thing from a different garage so i guess it's gotta be done.

Is this something I can do myself? Once the pads have been swapped over do they need adjusting like you would with a mountain bike?

Any idea on where i can get some decent pads off the net? They don't need to be top of the range but i also don't want some budget crap that wears out in a few months.

Ive got a pair of redstuff fast road front pads for a gen 1/2 for sale mate

The front brake pads for a gen3 are very very easy to change, there is a diy on it in the diy section, for doing it for the first time you will likely only need around 15-20 minutes per wheel.

For the actual brake pads, PC has got the hawk pads, but some will say red or green stuff pads. Its up to you.

I wonder if pads really make that much difference on a standard disk.
If you upgrade the disks, then surely you would notice a vast improvement even with standard pads?
