I don't know much about ceramic pads so hopefully someone will come along who does.

Won't they need lots of heat in them before they are any good at braking? I thought they were used on high end track and race cars for that very reason, their ability to still work at extreme temperatures. But when at low temperatures they are useless?

Don't think you would like the yellowstuff pads then, they give off tonnes of dust, hehe.

No yellow stuff or red stuff pads make to much dust and noise and they definately aren't for me.

No ceramic brake pads work great at all temperatures, they don't need to be warmed up to perform as good as promised.They are meant to be used on daily driven vehicles, not racing cars although they can be used for that to certain extent.

i had ceramic brakes on my saab and driving with them normaly on the road wasnt any good at all... at the track, oh yeah... i had 360mm disc's on the saabs front brakes and with ceramic pads the were like hitting a brick wall when the heat was up ...

but with this small hyundai disc i dont know, ive go for tarox or EBC for better track day breaking.

the only thing that will improve our breaking dramaticly is bigger brakes...

for everyday use, the mintex is ok, greenstuff will leave less dust but the mintex will last longer. also one negative effect with greenstuff is that if you fry them, you can throw them away. mintex or standard brakers you can you fine sand paper and sand away the glazed surfaced...

l personaly am not after better braking, for me brakes as they are brake good enough.l'm just after no noise, low dust and a bit better biting brake pads and plus that they can be driven normaly in all weather conditions.
You can get ceramic brake pads for a normal price in comparison with EBC, brembo and akebono.

i'd be looking for the same! mine are squeeking like mad at me and its driving me nuts!!
