Hi Guys

Can anybody tell me how to disassemble a Hyundai Coupe ABS pump? We took the car in about a year ago as the light was on, they cleaned out the pump and said it was just condensation. This did the trick until about 8 mths ago when the light came on again. This time they say that it needs a brand new pump at a cost of £400. I'm a little narked that they wouldn't even consider the condensation again, so I wondered if it was a simple thing to do. So I could give it a go at home before lining their pockets?

Depending on exactly what aspect of the pump you want to dismantle/repair, take a look (for another car, but they're fairly generic) covering some areas.

I'd be doubly sure you're confident at performing a safe repair though - the last thing you want happening is your ABS to decide it's got a mind of its own.

Thanks for your reply. I wouldn't have a clue which part of it I need to clean out. All I know is that when we first took it in they cleaned it out and found condensation in it. The guy said that they replace about 2 ABS pumps a year!

I just feel abit uneasy about them now saying it definately needs a new pump, just wondering if an independant garage would be cheaper.

Do you think it could be an ABS ring or sensor?

Does anybody know the codes that would show up on read out from a faulty ABS pump. I have finally located the paperwork from the read out and it just says the following:-

1 Defect Recorded, C2402 Pump Motor Malfunction.

Any help would be great.
